Easter baskets

For this craft you will need:

• pipe cleaners

• yarn

• sewing needle and thread or hot glue gun.

Step 1: Get one pipe cleaner and then use some yarn to wrap all around the pipe cleaner until almost the end of the pipe cleaner.

Tip: The pipe cleaner can be sometimes tricky to wrap around the yarn around because it is so long. If you bend the pipe cleaner half way it can make it easier to wrap and you can always bend your pipe cleaner back to normal after getting close to the part you bent.

Should look something like this.

Step 2: You now want to grab a new pipe cleaner and you can wrap it around the end of your first pipe cleaner that you just wrapped in yarn. Attach them together and start carefully wrapping the second pipe cleaner in yarn.

Step 3: Grab the start of your pipe cleaner and bend it into the yarn and start wrapping your pipe cleaning into a Swirl should look like this.

Step 4: Start sewing it together to get the swirl to stay together then stop when you like the size your base is and cut the end of the string. You also can hot glue it together but it will be harder texture and not soft as the yarn.

Step 5: After you have your flat base you now need 2 more pipe cleaners wrapped in yarn and then you start making a wall around your base to become the sides around your basket.

You will need to sew or hot glue the sides to get them to stay in place.

Step 6: Once you got the side borders up over lap it to make the sides higher in height unit you feel its at good height. Usually takes 4 layers stacked up.

Step 7: Last step wrap one pipe cleaner in yarn and then cut, bend the pipe cleaner and sew or hot glue on each side of the basket on top of the sides to make the handle. If your making a bigger basket and not a mini one you will need 2 to 3 pipe cleaners for the hand for a larger one.

You can add a face by sewing one on or decorate it in any way.
